Some things I've learned from living in the country:
Get up early: There are amazing things to see and there's work to be done.
Walk the land: Walk not just to walk, but to see what's new for the day.
Pay attention to nature's cycles: Migrations, flowering times, mating/nesting, fruiting, feeding, resting/activity times, etc.
Appreciate trees for their abundance and their gifts.
Be considerate when harvesting fruits and berries. Leave some!
Laugh at the antics of young animals playing and practicing for adulthood.
Try to disturb as little as possible: Leave a small print on the land.
It's ok to despise death as it takes the ones you watch and love, but realize it's part of nature's plan.
Celebrate the aged animals and how they've managed to survive for so long.
Feed the birds. The enjoyment you get is worth the cost.
Stand still and be silent.
